Perfect for competition prep
The grid lines are printed very lightly yet remain visible under brush strokes. The paper thickness prevents ink from bleeding through to the next sheet, which is crucial for my daily practice sessions.

Professional grade paper

A: The number refers to the total grid count on the sheet. The 28-grid has larger squares suitable for running script or larger characters, while the 56-grid offers smaller squares ideal for regular script or smaller, more detailed characters.
Q: Can I use this paper for water-only practice?
A: Yes, absolutely. The surface texture holds water marks well, making it suitable for 'water writing' practice where you use a special brush dipped only in water on a dark mat or directly on the paper to see temporary strokes.
Q: Is this paper acid-free for long-term preservation?
A: Yes, Jingyang Pavilion papers are manufactured using traditional methods that result in a neutral pH, making them suitable for archiving and long-term preservation of your artwork without yellowing over time.
Q: Are the grid lines printed in red or black?
A: The grid lines are printed in a light reddish-brown hue, designed to be traditional yet unobtrusive so they do not distract from the black ink of your calligraphy.
Q: Does the ink bleed through to the other side of the paper?
A: Due to the thickened nature and semi-sized treatment of this paper, ink bleed-through is minimal. However, using excessive water or very dark ink may cause slight show-through, so we recommend placing a protective sheet underneath during practice.
