Great quality, slight color variance

Excellent Ink Control
As a semi-sized paper, it strikes the perfect balance. The ink doesn't bleed uncontrollably like raw Xuan, but it still allows for rich tonal variations in my cursive script.
Q: Can I use this paper for water-based practice before using real ink?
A: While you can use water for temporary practice, the wax-dyed surface is primarily designed for permanent ink application. Water may not show the same effect as it would on raw Xuan paper.
Q: Does the wax-dyed surface prevent ink from spreading too much?
A: Yes, the wax-dyed and semi-sized treatment significantly controls ink spread, making it ideal for precise character work while still retaining some natural absorption for artistic expression.
Q: Is this paper acid-free for long-term preservation?
A: Yes, our Xuan paper is made using traditional methods that result in a neutral pH, ensuring your artwork remains preserved and does not yellow significantly over time.
Q: What is the difference between the 28-grid and 56-grid options?
A: The number refers to the density of the grid lines. 28-grid is suitable for larger characters or running script, while 56-grid offers finer guidance for small regular script or dense compositions.
Q: Do the grid lines fade if I mount the artwork?
A: The grid lines are printed with lightfast ink designed to remain visible but unobtrusive. They generally do not interfere with mounting, but we recommend testing a spare sheet with your specific mounting paste.
