Lovely scent and texture
The wood arrived well-packaged and had a pleasant, natural woody scent. The texture is incredibly smooth even before sanding. I'm using these scraps to practice my carving techniques, and they are forgiving yet durable.

Authentic Golden Silk effect
As a long-time woodworker, I can confirm this is genuine Golden Silk Nanmu. The chatoyancy is real and not painted on. It carves smoothly with both hand tools and rotary instruments. Highly recommended for handheld ornaments.

Good value for collectors
If you are looking for high-end wood scraps for small projects, this is a solid choice. The ebony pieces are dense and dark, pairing perfectly with the golden nanmu. One star off only because I wished there were slightly larger pieces included.

Great variety in the mix
I bought this for embellishing some collector's gourds. The mix of ebony and nanmu provides a nice contrast. Most pieces were a good size, though a couple were smaller than I expected. Overall, excellent quality for the price.

Perfect for small seal projects
The grain on these Phoebe Zhennan scraps is absolutely stunning. The golden shimmer catches the light beautifully when polished. I used a few pieces to carve custom seals, and the wood held fine details exceptionally well without splintering.
