Smooth and Consistent

I've tried many brands, but these STA fineliners offer the smoothest glide on paper. The triangular grip really does help during long drawing sessions. Highly recommend for anyone serious about illustration.

Ink quality is superior

The black is deeply saturated and truly waterproof. I accidentally left a cap off overnight, and it still wrote perfectly the next day. The air-tight seal works as advertised.

Perfect for Comic Inking

These pens are absolutely fantastic for my webcomic work. The ink flows consistently without blobbing, and the waterproof feature means I can watercolor over my lines without any smudging. The 0.3mm and 0.5mm are my go-to sizes.

Good range of sizes

Having ten different sizes in one kit is very convenient. The case is sturdy enough for travel. I wish the finest tip was slightly more durable, but for the price, this is a steal.

Great value for students

As an architecture student, I need reliable tools for drafting. This set covers almost every line weight I need. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the 0.05mm tip feels a bit too fragile for heavy-handed use, but otherwise excellent.

Q: Are these pens safe to use on thin marker paper without bleeding through?

A: Yes, the pigment ink is formulated to minimize bleed-through on most papers. However, we always recommend testing on a scrap piece of your specific paper first, as extremely thin sheets may still show some transparency.

Q: Do you sell replacement tips if one gets damaged?

A: Replacement tips are not sold separately for this specific model. If a tip becomes damaged, the entire pen unit would need to be replaced. We recommend handling the finer tips (0.05mm-0.2mm) with extra care.

Q: Can I refill these pens once the ink runs out?

A: No, the STA 8050 Fineliner Set consists of disposable pens designed for optimal performance until the ink is depleted. They are not designed to be refilled.

Q: What is the difference between these and standard ballpoint pens for drafting?

A: Fineliners use a felt or metal tip with liquid pigment ink, providing a consistent line width regardless of pressure, which is crucial for technical drawings and comics. Ballpoints vary in line width based on pressure and often skip on smooth surfaces.

Q: Is the carrying case included durable enough for daily commute?

A: Yes, the set comes with a hard plastic snap-case designed to protect the pens from breaking and to keep the caps secure during transport in a bag or backpack.
