Perfect size for Gongfu tea

Beautiful but delicate
The aesthetic is unmatched, truly a high-end piece. However, because the walls are so thin to achieve the 'ice-kind' effect, one must be very careful when washing it.
Q: Does the cup come with a lid?
A: No, this is a traditional open-top Master Cup (Pin Ming Bei) designed for smelling the aroma and viewing the liquor color. It does not include a lid.
Q: How do I clean the inside if tea stains build up?
A: For tea stains, we suggest soaking the cup in warm water with a little baking soda. Avoid using abrasive scrubbers or steel wool, as they can scratch the delicate glaze.
Q: Is the pattern painted or part of the glaze?
A: The 'Ice-Kind' effect is achieved through the specific firing technique and the thickness of the porcelain body, not by painting. The texture is natural to the material.
Q: Can I use this for green tea as well as Pu-erh?
A: Absolutely. This cup is versatile and suitable for all types of loose-leaf tea. Its thin walls are particularly good for green tea as they do not retain excessive heat that might cook the leaves.
Q: Is this cup microwave safe?
A: While the porcelain itself can withstand heat, we do not recommend microwaving this cup as rapid heating can cause thermal shock to the thin 'ice-kind' walls, potentially leading to cracks.
