Upgrade from my old manual machine
The electric foot pedal makes such a difference in speed control. I love the variety of stitches available on the 8330A. It's quiet enough to use while watching TV.

Sturdy construction
Feels very solid and well-built. The table setup is convenient. Only wish it came with a few more decorative presser feet, but the standard ones cover most needs.

Perfect for heavy fabrics!
I bought the JH8530A model specifically to sew denim jackets and it handles multiple layers like a dream. The heavy-duty motor is no joke. Very stable on the table.

Reliable workhorse
I've been using this Butterfly machine daily for three months now for my small alteration business. It hasn't skipped a single stitch. The LED light is bright and helpful.

Great value for home use
Solid machine for the price. The overlock function works well for finishing edges, though it takes a little practice to get the tension right. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Good but manual could be clearer
The machine itself sews beautifully, but the instruction manual for the overlock attachment was a bit confusing. Had to watch online videos to figure it out. Once set up, it works great.
Q: Can the JH8230A sew through thick leather?
A: The heavy-duty capability allows it to handle medium-weight leather and multiple layers of denim. For very thick industrial-grade leather, we recommend our industrial series, but this works well for most home projects.
Q: What is the difference between the 8230A and 8530A models?
A: The primary difference is the number of built-in stitch patterns. The 8230A offers essential utility stitches, while the 8530A includes additional decorative and buttonhole stitch options. The motor power and build quality are identical.
Q: Does this machine come with an overlock foot included?
A: Yes, all models in this series (JH8230A/8330A/8530A) include a specialized overlock presser foot and instructions for setting up the overlock function.
Q: Is the table stand adjustable in height?
A: The standard table frame has fixed legs designed for average desk height. However, you can place leveling pads under the legs if you need minor adjustments for your specific workspace.
Q: Does it have an automatic needle threader?
A: Yes, these models are equipped with a built-in automatic needle threading system to make setup faster and easier on your eyes.
