Compact and effective
Small form factor makes it easy to mount in tight spaces. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included header pins were not pre-soldered, but that's a minor issue.

Good value, needs calibration
The build quality is solid for the price. I had to adjust the potentiometer slightly to get the sensitivity right for my specific lighting conditions, but once set, it performs well.

Exceeded expectations
Very stable output even when the ambient light changes. I tested it near a window, and it didn't trigger falsely like some cheaper sensors I've tried before.

Great for university projects
Bought this for my final year engineering project. It integrates easily with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. The documentation provided by the seller was also very helpful.

Perfect for line follower robots
This sensor module works flawlessly with my Arduino project. The detection range is consistent, and it easily distinguishes between black tape and white surfaces. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Reliable and fast response
I used ten of these for a custom conveyor belt counter. The response time is incredibly fast, and I haven't had a single false positive in two weeks of continuous operation.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a small blue potentiometer on the PCB. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it while monitoring the output LED.
Q: Does this module work directly with 5V Arduino boards?
A: Yes, the QRE1113 module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with standard 5V Arduino boards like the Uno and Mega.
Q: What is the maximum distance this sensor can detect an object?
A: The optimal detection range is between 0mm and 8mm. Performance may degrade significantly beyond 10mm depending on the reflectivity of the target object.
Q: Can I use this outdoors in sunlight?
A: While the sensor has an IR filter, direct strong sunlight can interfere with readings. We recommend shielding the sensor or using it in shaded areas for outdoor applications.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
A: This specific breakout board provides a digital TTL output. There is a comparator on the board that converts the analog signal from the phototransistor into a clean high/low signal.
