Exceeded expectations
Very impressed with the build quality. The pins are well-soldered and the included header made prototyping simple. Highly recommend for anyone getting into distance sensing.

Good accuracy, limited range
As advertised, it works best under 2 meters. Beyond that, readings become unstable. For indoor navigation and obstacle avoidance within close proximity, it is flawless.

Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor is incredibly accurate for short-range detection. I used it on my line-following robot and the response time is excellent. The optical cover really helps reduce ambient light interference.

Reliable ToF performance
We bought ten of these for a student workshop. All units performed identically right out of the box. The I2C addressing feature allows multiple sensors on one bus, which is a huge plus.

Great value, easy to integrate
Setup with Arduino was straightforward using the standard library. It measures consistently up to about 1.8 meters in bright room lighting. Would have given 5 stars if the range was slightly longer.

Compact and lightweight
Ideal for small drones where weight is critical. The module is tiny yet robust. The optical cover protects the lens well during minor bumps.
Q: Can this sensor work outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: While the optical cover helps, direct intense sunlight can interfere with ToF measurements. It is best suited for indoor use or shaded outdoor environments.
Q: How do I calibrate the sensor for better accuracy?
A: The sensor factory-calibrated, but you can perform offset calibration in your code by measuring a known distance and adjusting the offset register accordingly.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: The module comes with header pins soldered or unsoldered depending on the specific SKU, but jumper wires are typically sold separately.
Q: What microcontroller boards are compatible with this module?
A: It is compatible with any board supporting 3.3V I2C communication, including Arduino Uno (with level shifter), Nano, ESP32, ESP8266, and Raspberry Pi.
