Reliable vibration detection

I bought five of these for a student workshop. All of them worked out of the box. The digital output makes interfacing with microcontrollers incredibly easy without needing extra code for analog reading.

Compact and effective

The size is perfect for small projects where space is tight. The LED indicator is bright enough to see status clearly. Only minor issue is the pin headers were not included, but that is standard for these modules.

Excellent sensitivity range

Perfect for my alarm project

This sensor module works exactly as described. The LM393 comparator makes the signal very clean, and adjusting the sensitivity with the potentiometer was straightforward. I used it to detect bumps on a robot chassis, and it responded instantly.

Works well but documentation is sparse

The hardware itself is solid and functions correctly. However, I had to search online for a good tutorial on how to wire it up initially. Once I figured it out, it has been working great in my security prototype.

Good value, needs careful tuning

Great little board for the price. It took me a few minutes to get the sensitivity right so it wouldn't trigger from ambient noise, but once set, it is very reliable. The soldering points are well-labeled.

5 FAQ

Q: What is the maximum voltage I can supply to the VCC pin?

A: The operating voltage range is 3.3V to 5V DC. Please do not exceed 5V as it may damage the LM393 chip and the LED indicator.

Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?

A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (detect lighter vibrations) and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Use a small screwdriver for adjustment.

Q: Is the spring switch replaceable if it breaks?

A: The spring switch is soldered directly to the PCB. While technically replaceable with soldering skills, it is designed as a durable component for normal hobbyist use and rarely fails under standard conditions.

Q: Does this module output an analog signal or digital?

A: This module outputs a digital signal (HIGH/LOW or 1/0) via the DO pin. It uses the LM393 comparator to convert the vibration input into a clean digital switch.

Q: Can I use this with a 3.3V microcontroller like ESP32?

A: Yes, absolutely. Since the module operates between 3.3V and 5V, it is fully compatible with 3.3V logic systems like the ESP32, ESP8266, and 3.3V Arduino boards.
