Good value, easy to wire
Very straightforward setup. The screw terminals are solid. I deducted one star because the probe cables could be a bit longer for larger pots, but overall a great little device.
Q: Does this come with a power adapter?
A: No, the package includes the control module and the soil sensor probe only. You will need to provide your own 12V DC power supply separately.
Q: Can I connect multiple sensors to one module?
A: This module is designed for a single sensor input. Connecting multiple probes in parallel may give inaccurate readings due to varying resistance across different soil locations.
Q: How do I adjust the moisture threshold?
A: There is a blue potentiometer (dial) on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (activate in drier soil) or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Test with dry and wet soil to find your sweet spot.
Q: Can this module directly control a 24V water pump?
A: No, this specific model is designed for 12V DC input and output control. Using a 24V pump may damage the relay or the circuit. Please ensure your pump matches the 12V specification.
Q: Is the soil probe corrosion resistant?
A: The probe is nickel-plated to resist corrosion, but prolonged exposure to very acidic soil or fertilizer runoff may eventually degrade it. We recommend checking it periodically.
