Great value, minor calibration needed
Overall a solid sensor for the price point. It required a quick calibration upon arrival, but once set up, it has been running without issues in our aquaculture tank. The sapphire glass window is a nice touch for durability.

Perfect for our municipal plant
We installed three of these modules in our wastewater treatment line last month. The readings are consistent and match our lab results perfectly. The onboard controller makes integration with our SCADA system very straightforward.

Reliable performance

Excellent customer support
Had a question about the Modbus address configuration, and the support team responded within an hour with a detailed guide. The sensor itself works great, but the support experience sealed the deal for me.
Q: Does the onboard controller log data internally?
A: The onboard controller processes signals and manages communication protocols but does not have internal long-term storage. Data must be logged by an external PLC, computer, or data logger connected via the output interface.
Q: What calibration standards are compatible with this module?
A: This module is compatible with standard Formazin or AMCO-AEPA-1 turbidity standards. A two-point calibration (zero and span) is usually sufficient for general applications.
Q: Can I use this sensor for drinking water monitoring?
A: Yes, absolutely. While designed for wastewater, its high sensitivity down to 0.0 NTU makes it suitable for drinking water clarity testing as well. Just ensure you calibrate it using low-range standards.
Q: Is the 5-meter cable fixed, or can it be extended?
A: The standard unit comes with a 5-meter cable. However, the RS485 interface allows for extension up to 1200 meters using standard shielded twisted pair cabling without signal loss.
Q: Does this sensor require regular cleaning, and if so, how often?
A: For most wastewater applications, we recommend inspecting and cleaning the optical window every 3 to 6 months depending on the fouling rate. The sapphire glass resists scratching, making maintenance easy with a soft cloth.
