Good value, minor setup quirks
The sensor works well for our prototype conveyor system. Had to tweak the baud rate settings initially to get the UART communication smooth, but once configured, it has been reliable. The 400F range is impressive.

Consistent performance
We bought a batch of TOF050C modules for a student workshop. All units performed consistently out of the box. The documentation provided by the seller helped us get started quickly.

Perfect for robotics projects
I used the TOF200F model for my autonomous rover. The I2C interface was easy to integrate with my Arduino, and the readings are surprisingly stable even in varying light conditions. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Great library support
Found several open-source libraries compatible with this sensor series which saved me a lot of time. The only reason for 4 stars is that the cable included was a bit short for my enclosure setup.

Reliable for industrial prototyping
Using these for proximity detection in a sorting mechanism. They handle different surface colors better than ultrasonic sensors. Very happy with the purchase and the build quality.

Lightweight and accurate
Weight is critical for my drone altitude hold system. This module is incredibly light and provides fast updates. The accuracy at short ranges is excellent for landing assistance.
Q: Can I change the I2C address if I have multiple sensors?
A: Yes, the I2C address is configurable via serial commands, allowing you to connect multiple sensors on the same bus by assigning unique addresses to each unit.
Q: Can this sensor measure through glass?
A: Generally, ToF lasers struggle with transparent materials like clear glass as the beam may pass through or reflect unpredictably. It is recommended to use opaque targets for best results.
Q: Does it work outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: While the sensor has some ambient light rejection, performance may degrade in direct, intense sunlight. For outdoor applications, shielding the sensor or using the higher power models (like 400F) is advisable.
