Perfect for robotics grip feedback
I integrated this sensor into a robotic gripper project and the voltage conversion is very linear within the expected range. The serial output makes it incredibly easy to read data directly on my PC without needing complex ADC setups. Highly recommended for prototyping.

Great sensitivity, needs calibration
The sensor is extremely sensitive to light touches. While this is great for detailed pressure mapping, you do need to spend some time calibrating it in software to get accurate force readings. The build quality feels durable enough for repeated testing.

Solid documentation included
Unlike many generic sensors, this came with a clear PDF explaining the pinout and the serial protocol. It saved me hours of reverse engineering. Deducting one star only because the cable could be a bit longer.

Good for low force, saturates quickly
Works well for applications under 50N, but I noticed the output starts to saturate if you press too hard. For my specific high-load application, it wasn't quite enough, but for general tactile sensing, it performs as advertised.

Easy plug-and-play with PC
Arrived quickly and worked immediately upon connecting to my laptop. The drivers were recognized instantly, and I could see the pressure values changing in real-time using a simple terminal program. Excellent tool for student projects.

Best value FSR module
We bought five of these for our university lab. Compared to other brands, the Kangwei module offers the best price-to-performance ratio. The thin film design allows us to hide it easily inside 3D printed parts.
Q: What software do you recommend for visualizing the data on PC?
A: You can use any serial terminal like PuTTY or Tera Term to view raw data. For visualization, we provide sample Python scripts using Matplotlib on our GitHub repository linked in the manual.
Q: Can I daisy-chain multiple sensors to one USB port?
A: This specific module is designed as a single-point sensor. To read multiple sensors, you would need to use a microcontroller to multiplex the inputs or purchase our multi-channel hub accessory separately.
Q: Does this module work with Arduino or only direct PC connection?
A: While designed for direct PC serial reading, the module outputs standard UART signals. You can easily connect the TX/RX pins to an Arduino or any microcontroller with a UART interface.
Q: What is the maximum temperature this sensor can withstand?
A: The operating temperature range is -20°C to +60°C. Exposing the thin film to temperatures outside this range may affect accuracy or damage the material.
Q: Is the sensor waterproof?
A: No, the Thin Film Pressure Sensor is not waterproof. It should be protected from moisture and liquids. You can encapsulate it in a thin protective layer if your application requires splash resistance.
