Reliable but needs careful wiring
The sensor accuracy is excellent for my greenhouse automation project. Just make sure you use proper termination resistors on the RS485 line, otherwise, you might get some noise in the data.

Perfect for Industrial Monitoring
Integrated this module into our warehouse monitoring system. The Modbus communication is stable and the readings match our calibrated reference instruments almost perfectly. Very easy to set up the slave ID.

Works flawlessly with Home Assistant
Connected via a USB-to-RS485 adapter to my server. Home Assistant picks it up immediately using the Modbus integration. Temperature and humidity updates are consistent every 10 seconds.

Solid build quality
We deployed ten of these in a manufacturing floor environment. They have held up well against dust and minor vibrations. One unit had a slightly loose terminal block, but tightening it fixed the issue.

Great value for high precision

Q: What is the default baud rate and slave address?
A: The default baud rate is 9600 bps, and the default slave address is 1. Both can be modified via specific Modbus registers if your network requires different settings.
Q: What is the maximum cable length supported for RS485 communication?
A: Under ideal conditions with proper shielding and termination, RS485 can support cable lengths up to 1200 meters. Ensure you use twisted pair cables for best results.
Q: Is there a Python library available to read data from this specific module?
A: Since it uses standard Modbus RTU, you can use any generic Python Modbus library like pymodbus or minimalmodbus. We provide a sample script in the product documentation download section.
Q: Does this module come with pull-up resistors for the RS485 lines?
A: The module includes the necessary transceiver circuitry, but we recommend adding external termination resistors (120 ohm) at both ends of your long bus cable for optimal signal integrity.
Q: Can this sensor operate outdoors in direct rain?
A: While the SHT20 sensor element has a protective cap, the PCB and terminals are not waterproof. For outdoor use, please install the module inside an IP65-rated enclosure.
