Easy to integrate with Arduino
As a beginner, I found this very easy to wire up and code for. There are plenty of libraries available that support the US-100 specifically. Works straight out of the box.

Excellent accuracy with temperature compensation
This module is a significant upgrade over the standard HC-SR04. The built-in temperature compensation makes a noticeable difference in readings when used in environments with fluctuating temperatures. Very reliable for my robotics project.

Reliable and consistent

Solid performance for the price
We tested these for a small conveyor belt counter system. They performed well under indoor lighting conditions. Not suitable for outdoor heavy rain, but perfect for controlled indoor environments.

Great dual-mode functionality
I love that I can switch between UART and IO trigger modes easily. It saved me a GPIO pin on my microcontroller. The only reason for 4 stars is that the documentation could be slightly clearer on the baud rate settings.
Q: Can this sensor work in complete darkness?
A: Yes, the US-100 uses ultrasonic sound waves rather than light, so it functions perfectly in total darkness or bright light conditions.
Q: Does it come with connecting wires?
A: The module typically comes with header pins installed, but connecting jumper wires are usually sold separately depending on the specific retailer package.
Q: How do I switch between IO and UART modes?
A: You can switch modes by shorting the jumper cap on the back of the module. Closed enables UART mode, while open enables IO trigger mode.
Q: What is the default baud rate for UART mode?
A: The default baud rate for the US-100 in UART mode is 9600 bps. This can be changed via command if necessary.
Q: Is this module waterproof?
A: No, the US-100 is not waterproof. It should only be used in dry, indoor environments or protected enclosures.
