Solid component for students
We use these in our robotics workshop. They are durable enough to handle student handling and provide consistent results. The voltage flexibility is a nice bonus.

Perfect for Arduino Projects

Simple Integration
The digital output makes coding very simple. No need for complex analog readings if you just need an on/off trigger. The comparator chip on board does the heavy lifting.

Good value, easy to use
Great little sensor for the price. It responded quickly to changes in lighting. I deducted one star because the soldering points were a bit small for beginners, but otherwise excellent.

Q: Does it work in complete darkness?
A: Yes, in complete darkness, the resistance of the photoresistor increases, which will trigger the output state (depending on your circuit logic). You can adjust the threshold using the blue potentiometer.
Q: Can this module be used directly with a Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, since it operates at DC 5V and provides a digital output, it is compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. Just ensure you connect the VCC to the 5V pin and GND to ground.
Q: Can I run this on 3.3V instead of 5V or 12V?
A: While some units may function at 3.3V, the module is officially rated for DC 5V to 12V. For stable operation and accurate switching thresholds, we recommend using at least 5V.
