Good sensitivity, clear instructions
The photodiode reacts quickly to changes in light. I used it for a night light project. Only giving 4 stars because the soldering pads are a bit small for beginners, but otherwise excellent.

Great for learning sensors
Used this in my university embedded systems lab. It's robust enough to handle student errors and provides clear readings. The potentiometer is a bit stiff initially but loosens up with use.

Q: What is the maximum distance this sensor can detect a light source?
A: The detection range depends heavily on the intensity of the light source and ambient conditions. For a standard LED indicator at room lighting, it typically detects within 5-15cm. It is designed for proximity light detection rather than long-range.
Q: Does this come with header pins pre-soldered?
A: No, the module is shipped without header pins soldered to provide flexibility for direct wire soldering or using your own headers. You will need to solder them yourself.
Q: Is the output active high or active low?
A: The digital output (DO) is typically active low, meaning it outputs LOW (0V) when light is detected and HIGH (VCC) when dark, though this can sometimes depend on specific circuit variations. We recommend testing with a multimeter upon arrival.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity threshold?
