Reliable non-contact detection
I am using this for a smart coffee maker prototype. It successfully detects liquid through the plastic reservoir. No false positives so far after a week of testing.

Perfect for my aquarium project
This sensor works exactly as described. I mounted it on the outside of my glass tank, and it detects the water level instantly without any wires touching the water. Very safe and reliable.

Good sensitivity, needs calibration
The module is great, but you need to adjust the potentiometer on the back to get the sensitivity right for your specific container thickness. Once tuned, it works flawlessly.

Easy to integrate with Arduino
Connected this to my Arduino Uno in minutes. The digital output makes coding very simple. It's a much better solution than probes that corrode over time.

Great for beginners
As someone new to sensors, this was very forgiving. The LED indicators help you see immediately if it's detecting water. Highly recommend for learning projects.

Solid build quality
The PCB looks well-made with clear soldering points. The only reason for 4 stars is that the included pins were slightly bent, but nothing a quick fix couldn't solve.
Q: What is the current consumption of this sensor?
A: The module consumes approximately 10mA when active. The LED indicators account for most of this draw. You can desolder the LEDs to reduce power usage for battery projects.
Q: Does it work with liquids other than water?
A: It works best with conductive liquids like water. It may have reduced sensitivity or require significant recalibration for non-conductive liquids like pure oil or alcohol.
Q: Is this module waterproof?
A: The sensing area is conformal coated and resistant to splashes, but the entire module is not submersible. It is designed to be mounted on the exterior of the container.
Q: Can I connect multiple sensors to one microcontroller?
A: Absolutely. Since each module has its own digital output pin, you can connect as many as you have available GPIO pins on your microcontroller to monitor different levels or containers.
Q: Can this sensor detect water through a thick glass jar?
A: Yes, it can detect through glass, but the maximum thickness depends on the sensitivity adjustment. It typically works well with walls up to 5-8mm thick after calibrating the potentiometer.
