Good value, clear instructions needed

The hardware quality is solid and the LM393 chip is reliable. However, beginners might struggle slightly without a wiring diagram in the package. Once connected correctly, it performs well.

Perfect for my Arduino project

This sensor module works exactly as described. The sensitivity potentiometer makes it very easy to calibrate for different lighting conditions. I used it for a night-light automation project and it triggered reliably every time.

Fast response time

Great for school projects

Bought five of these for a class project. All of them worked out of the box. The digital output makes interfacing with microcontrollers very simple compared to analog sensors.

Solid build quality

The PCB looks clean and the soldering is neat. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the mounting holes are a bit tight for standard screws, but it's a minor issue.

Q: Can I connect this directly to a 3.3V microcontroller like ESP32?

A: Yes, the module operates within a 3.3V to 5V range, so it is fully compatible with 3.3V logic systems like the ESP32 or Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.

Q: Does this module output analog or digital signals?

A: This module provides a digital switching output (0 or 1). If you need an analog reading of light intensity, you would need to use the photoresistor directly or look for a specific analog version.

Q: What is the maximum current this module can handle?

A: The output pin is designed for signal logic levels and should not be used to drive high-current loads directly. Please use a transistor or relay module if you need to switch higher power devices.

Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?

A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Turn it clockwise to decrease sensitivity (requiring darker conditions to trigger) or counter-clockwise to increase sensitivity.

Q: Is the photoresistor replaceable if it breaks?

A: Yes, the photoresistor is through-hole soldered, so it can be desoldered and replaced with a standard LDR if damaged, though they are quite durable under normal use.
