Great value, minor setup learning curve
The hardware quality is excellent for the price. It took me a little while to configure the baud rates correctly via the software, but once set up, the data logging is consistent and accurate. The probes feel durable.

Essential for greenhouse automation
Integrating this into my Arduino-based greenhouse controller was straightforward. The DS18B20 probes respond quickly to temperature changes, allowing my heating system to react in real-time. Very satisfied.

Robust build quality
Used this in a slightly dusty workshop environment for three months now. No issues with connectivity or sensor drift. The enclosure protects the electronics well, and the screw terminals are easy to wire.

Perfect for industrial monitoring
We deployed these modules across our warehouse to monitor cold storage units. The RS485 communication is stable over long distances, and the Modbus integration with our PLC was seamless. Highly recommended for professional setups.

Reliable multi-channel solution
I needed a way to log temperatures from eight different points in my server room. This device handles all channels simultaneously without lag. The serial logger feature saves me from building a custom database interface.

Good accuracy, fast shipping
Compared the readings against a calibrated laboratory thermometer, and the deviation was negligible. The only reason for 4 stars is that the manual could be more detailed regarding advanced register mapping.
Q: Are the temperature probes waterproof?
A: The standard stainless steel probe tips are water-resistant and suitable for humid environments, but the junction where the cable meets the probe is not fully submersible. For underwater use, please look for our IP68 rated variants.
Q: Can this module connect directly to a PC without an additional converter?
A: No, since this module uses RS485 signaling, you will need an RS485-to-USB converter adapter to connect it directly to a standard PC USB port.
Q: How do I change the device address if two modules conflict?
A: You can change the slave address using our free configuration software via the serial connection. Ensure only one device is connected to the bus when changing addresses to avoid conflicts.
Q: Does this support Modbus TCP over Ethernet?
A: No, this specific model only supports Modbus RTU over RS485. If you require Ethernet/TCP functionality, please check our 'Multi-Channel WiFi/ETH Temperature Gateway' product line.
Q: What is the maximum cable length supported for the RS485 connection?
A: Under ideal conditions with proper shielding and termination, RS485 can support cable lengths up to 1200 meters (approx. 4000 feet) at lower baud rates.
