Integrates well with ESPHome

Solid performance
The build quality is decent. The soldering points are clear. Only minor issue is the cable is a bit short for some of my enclosures, but easy to extend.
Q: How do I change the measurement resolution?
A: The resolution can be changed via software commands sent over the I2C bus. The datasheet provides specific hex codes to switch between High, Low, and Auto-resolution modes.
Q: Can this sensor measure UV index?
A: No, the BH1750FVI is designed specifically to measure visible light intensity (Lux) and mimics human eye sensitivity. It does not measure UV radiation.
Q: What is the maximum distance the cable can be extended?
A: While the included cable is 20cm, you can extend the I2C lines. However, for reliable communication without signal degradation, we recommend keeping total cable length under 1 meter unless using shielded cables or pull-up resistor adjustments.
Q: Does this module work with 5V logic levels directly?
A: Yes, the module operates on a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, so it is fully compatible with 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno without needing a level shifter.
Q: Is there a library available for Python on Raspberry Pi?
A: Absolutely. There are several open-source Python libraries available for the BH1750 on GitHub that work perfectly with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
