Great for beginners
As someone new to embedded systems, I found this module very forgiving. Plenty of example code available online. It just works when you connect the four pins correctly. Very happy with this purchase.

Reliable altitude hold
Using this for low-altitude holding on a custom drone build. It responds quickly and the 5-meter range is exactly what I needed. The protective cover is a nice touch to prevent lens scratches during crashes.

Consistent performance
Bought five of these for a student workshop. All units performed consistently out of the box. The time-of-flight technology handles black surfaces much better than standard IR sensors we used previously.

Compact and efficient
Very small footprint which is great for tight spaces. Power consumption is low. Had a minor issue with pull-up resistors on my custom PCB, but that was my error, not the sensor's. Highly recommended.

Good value, easy I2C setup
Works well with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. The library support is decent. Only giving 4 stars because the datasheet could be more detailed regarding register maps, but overall a solid module for the price.

Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor is incredibly accurate for short-range navigation. I integrated it into my autonomous rover, and the readings are stable even in varying light conditions. The included pin header made soldering straightforward.
Q: What is the update rate if I need faster readings?
A: The sensor can sample up to 60Hz. You can configure the timing budget via I2C registers to balance between speed and accuracy depending on your specific application needs.
Q: How does sunlight affect the performance outdoors?
A: While the sensor has an infrared filter, direct intense sunlight can interfere with measurements. It is recommended to use a shading tube or operate in shaded areas for optimal outdoor performance.
Q: Is this module compatible with 5V logic microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, but since the module operates at 3.3V, you must use a logic level converter or voltage divider for the SDA and SCL lines to avoid damaging the sensor when connecting to 5V boards.
Q: Can this sensor measure through glass or transparent plastic?
A: No, Time-of-Flight laser sensors generally cannot measure distance through transparent materials like glass because the laser passes through rather than reflecting back. It works best on opaque surfaces.
Q: Does the package include the connecting wires?
