Perfect for my Arduino clap switch project
This module works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to tune it so it only triggers on a loud clap and ignores background noise. Wiring was straightforward with clear labels for VCC, GND, DO, and AO.

Works well once understood
As a beginner, I wasn't sure about the difference between DO and AO pins at first. After reading some tutorials, I realized DO is for simple threshold detection and AO gives the analog amplitude. Very educational and functional module.

Compact and effective
The small form factor fits easily into tight enclosures for my robotics projects. The detection range is sufficient for room-scale applications. No issues with false triggers after proper setup.

Easy to integrate
Integrated this with an ESP32 for a voice-activated relay. The digital output makes coding very simple. It reacts quickly to whistle commands. Shipping was fast and the packaging protected the components well.

Good value but needs calibration
Great little sensor for the price. Out of the box, it was a bit too sensitive, but after turning the potentiometer slightly, it worked perfectly for my hallway light automation. Just take your time to calibrate it.

Reliable and low noise
I've tested several sound sensors, and this one has noticeably less electrical noise on the output compared to cheaper alternatives. The LM393 comparator ensures a clean digital signal. Highly recommended for prototyping.
Q: Is a library required to use this with Arduino?
A: No specific library is required. You can read the digital output using a standard digitalRead() function or read the analog values using analogRead(). It functions like a standard button or potentiometer.
Q: Can this detect normal conversation levels or only loud claps?
A: It can detect both. By adjusting the onboard potentiometer, you can set the sensitivity threshold to trigger on soft sounds like conversation or restrict it to only loud noises like claps or whistles.
Q: What is the maximum current this module draws?
A: The module typically consumes around 4mA to 5mA when active. It is safe to power directly from the 5V or 3.3V pins of most microcontroller boards.
Q: Does this module provide an analog output or only digital?
A: This module provides both. The 'AO' pin outputs an analog voltage proportional to the sound intensity, while the 'DO' pin provides a digital high/low signal based on the threshold set by the potentiometer.
Q: Can I connect multiple of these modules to one microcontroller?
