Perfect for Arduino Robotics
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno project. The distance readings are consistent and the code libraries available online make integration very easy. Great value for the price.

Good accuracy, needs stable voltage
The module performs well within the specified range. I noticed some fluctuation when powering it directly from a weak USB port, but once connected to a stable 5V source, it became very reliable.

Compact and lightweight
Used this on a small DIY drone for altitude hold. The size is perfect and it doesn't add much weight. Response time is quick enough for basic obstacle avoidance.

Works as advertised
No complaints here. It measures distance accurately up to about 3 meters in my testing. Beyond that, it gets a bit noisy, but that is expected for this price point.
Q: Can this sensor work with a 3.3V microcontroller like the ESP32?
A: Yes, the HC-SR04 operates between 3.3V and 5V. However, ensure your microcontroller's logic levels are compatible; sometimes a voltage divider is recommended for the Echo pin when using 3.3V boards to prevent damage.
Q: Does this come with jumper wires?
A: No, this package includes only the HC-SR04 sensor module. Jumper wires are sold separately.
Q: How do I handle multiple sensors on one board?
A: You can use multiple sensors by connecting their VCC and GND in parallel, but each sensor must have its own dedicated Trigger and Echo pins connected to different GPIO pins on your microcontroller. You should also trigger them sequentially with a small delay to avoid interference.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof?
A: No, the standard HC-SR04 module is not waterproof. It should only be used in dry, indoor environments. For outdoor or wet conditions, please look for our waterproof ultrasonic sensor models.
Q: What is the minimum detection distance?
A: The minimum measurable distance is approximately 2cm. Objects closer than this may not be detected reliably or may return incorrect values.
