Perfect for my weather station project
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The I2C communication is stable, and the lux readings are consistent with my professional light meter. Setup took less than 10 minutes using standard libraries.

Essential for automation
Integrated this into my smart greenhouse controller to automate grow lights. The accuracy is sufficient for plant growth monitoring, and it hasn't drifted over the last three months of continuous use.

Great value, easy to use
Very affordable and accurate for indoor lighting projects. I deducted one star because the pin headers were not pre-soldered, but that's expected at this price point. Highly recommended for beginners.

Reliable and precise
I've tested this against more expensive sensors and the BH1750FVI chip holds up remarkably well. The wide dynamic range makes it suitable for both dim rooms and bright outdoor conditions.

Easy integration
As someone new to electronics, I was worried about wiring this up. The documentation online is excellent, and there are plenty of code examples. It worked on the first try!

Solid performance
Using this on a line-following robot to detect ambient light changes. It responds quickly to changes in illumination. Just make sure you have pull-up resistors if your board doesn't have them built-in.
Q: What is the response time when light conditions change suddenly?
A: The BH1750FVI typically updates measurements every 120ms in high-resolution mode. It reacts very quickly to sudden changes in light intensity, making it suitable for real-time applications.
Q: Does this module work with 3.3V logic levels like the ESP32?
A: Yes, the GY-30 module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with ESP32, ESP8266, and 3.3V Arduino boards without needing a level shifter.
Q: What library do you recommend for reading data from this sensor?
A: The most popular and reliable library is 'BH1750' by clavvjo. It is available directly in the Arduino Library Manager and supports multiple resolution modes easily.
Q: Can I connect multiple of these sensors to one Arduino?
A: Yes, but since the default I2C address is fixed, you would need to modify the sensor's address pin (if accessible on your specific breakout) or use an I2C multiplexer like the TCA9548A to handle multiple units.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof for outdoor use?
A: No, the bare PCB module is not waterproof. If you plan to use it outdoors, you must enclose it in a waterproof housing with a transparent window to protect it from rain and humidity.
