Good value, easy to use

Very compact and easy to wire up. I used it for a smart home light automation project. The only reason for 4 stars is that the pins are not pre-soldered, but that's expected at this price point.

Works well for plant monitoring

Using this to monitor light levels in my indoor garden. It handles the range well, though direct sunlight can sometimes max out the lower resolution mode. Switching to high-res mode solved it.

Reliable I2C Communication

I've tested several light sensors, and the BH1750 is by far the most consistent. The I2C address is configurable via the ADDR pin, which is helpful if you need multiple sensors on one bus.

Q: What is the power consumption in sleep mode?

A: The sensor features a power-down mode where consumption drops significantly, typically below 0.1µA, making it ideal for battery-powered projects.

Q: Can this sensor measure outdoor sunlight directly?

A: While it can measure high light levels, direct intense sunlight may exceed the maximum range of 65535 Lux depending on the mode. It is best suited for indoor or shaded outdoor applications.

Q: Does this module come with headers soldered?

A: No, the module typically comes without headers soldered to allow for flexible mounting options. You will need to solder your own header pins.

Q: What is the default I2C address?

A: The default I2C address is usually 0x23. If the ADDR pin is connected to VCC, the address changes to 0x5C.
