Perfect for my safety project
This sensor works exactly as described. I used it with an Arduino Uno to build a fire alert system for my workshop. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to fine-tune the detection distance.

Reliable and compact
Small footprint makes it easy to fit into tight enclosures. The mounting holes are standard size. No false positives in my testing environment so far.

Fast response time
I was impressed by how quickly the digital output switches when exposed to a lighter flame. It's much faster than the thermal sensors I previously tested. Highly recommended for DIY alarms.

Good value, clear instructions needed
The hardware quality is solid and the IR receiver is sensitive. However, beginners might struggle without a detailed wiring diagram. Once connected correctly, it detects flame instantly.

Great for educational kits

Works well but range is limited
Effective within the specified range (about 1 meter for strong flames). Do not expect it to detect a candle from across the room. For close-range monitoring, it is excellent.
Q: Can this module detect sunlight or just actual fire?
A: The sensor is tuned to specific wavelengths emitted by flames (760nm-1100nm). While strong direct sunlight contains some IR, the adjustable sensitivity allows you to filter out ambient light. It is designed to prioritize flame detection.
Q: What is the maximum current draw?
A: The module consumes approximately 20mA when active. It is safe to power directly from the 5V or 3.3V pins of most microcontroller boards like Arduino or ESP8266.
Q: Does this come with the connecting wires?
A: The module includes the pin headers soldered onto the board. Jumper wires are typically sold separately, but any standard male-to-female jumper wire will work with the 3-pin or 4-pin interface.
Q: Can I use this outdoors?
A: The PCB itself is not weatherproof. For outdoor use, you must house the module in a waterproof enclosure with a transparent window that allows IR radiation to pass through.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
