Works as advertised
Solid build quality. The screw terminals are a bit small for thick wires, but they hold fine for standard jumper wires. Good sensitivity.

Good value but needs calibration
The module arrived quickly and looks well-made. I had to calibrate the zero-point slightly in code, but once done, it measures AC current accurately.

Small footprint makes it easy to fit into tight robot chassis. The isolation provided by the Hall effect is a huge plus for safety.

Q: Can this sensor measure both AC and DC current?
A: Yes, the ACS712 module is capable of measuring both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC).
Q: Does the 30A version get hot under full load?
A: It may become warm to the touch under continuous full load, which is normal. Ensure adequate airflow or heatsinking if running at maximum capacity for extended periods.
Q: Is this module compatible with 3.3V microcontrollers like ESP8266?
A: The sensor requires a 5V supply, but the analog output can be read by 3.3V logic boards. Ensure you do not exceed the ADC input voltage of your microcontroller.
Q: What is the voltage output when no current is flowing?
A: When no current is flowing, the output voltage sits at approximately half the supply voltage, which is 2.5V for a 5V supply.
