Exceeded my expectations for performance
Used this for a local cultural festival performance and received many compliments. The volume is sufficient for ensemble play, and the intonation is accurate across all positions. The Xinghai brand really delivers on quality for this model.

Solid construction, rich tone
The Guibou wood gives this pipa a very distinct, deep sound compared to cheaper sandalwood models. It holds tuning very well even after long practice sessions. The finish is glossy and smooth. Deducting one star only because the included picks were a bit thin.

Great value for an intermediate player
As someone transitioning from a student instrument, this pipa is a significant upgrade. The rosewood body feels solid and premium. My only minor critique is that the strings needed replacing immediately for my taste, but that is common with new instruments.

Perfect for my conservatory exam
