Does the job well
Simple, effective, and lightweight. It rocks gently when agitating, which helps with even development. The only minor issue is that the corners are slightly sharp, but not a dealbreaker.

Classic design, modern quality
Reminds me of the trays we used in college photography classes. Very consistent depth ensures my prints don't curl up out of the solution. Excellent product.

Perfect for my darkroom setup
This tray is exactly what I needed for processing 8x10 black and white prints. The ribbed bottom keeps the paper from sticking, and the white interior makes it easy to see the image developing. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Essential for B&W printing
The dimensions are spot on for 8x10 paper. I appreciate the chemical resistance; nothing has warped or degraded the plastic so far. A solid addition to any darkroom.

Sturdy and reliable
Good quality plastic that feels durable. It holds enough chemistry to fully submerge an 8x10 sheet without splashing. Only wish it came in a larger size option for 11x14 work.

Great value for money
I've used expensive trays before, and this Pilot tray performs just as well for a fraction of the cost. Easy to clean and store. No staining after multiple uses with D-76 developer.
Q: Can this tray be used for color film processing?
A: While primarily designed for black and white paper, it can be used for color processes if thoroughly cleaned between chemicals to prevent cross-contamination. However, dedicated color trays are often preferred for strict temperature control.
Q: Does this come with a lid for storage?
A: No, this specific model does not include a lid. It is designed for open-tray processing. We recommend covering it with a separate plastic sheet or storing chemicals in bottles if leaving them in the tray temporarily.
Q: Is the plastic opaque or translucent?
A: The tray is made of opaque white polypropylene. This helps reflect light upwards, making it easier to monitor the development progress of your prints under safe lights.
Q: How do I clean stubborn stains from developer?
A: For stubborn stains, we recommend soaking the tray in a dilute bleach solution or a specialized photographic equipment cleaner, then rinsing thoroughly with water before reuse.
Q: What is the maximum volume of liquid this tray can hold?
A: The tray holds approximately 1.5 liters (about 50 oz) when filled to the optimal working level for 8x10 paper, ensuring full coverage without overflow during agitation.
