Perfect for our small office integration

Good value for money
We deployed ten of these units across our branch offices. They are stable and the recording files are easy to manage. One unit had a loose USB port, but replacement was fast.

Excellent API for customization

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The device itself is solid and the audio quality is crisp. The SDK for secondary development is powerful, but the English translation in the manual has some gaps. Still, support helped us out quickly.

Bus powered convenience
Love that it doesn't require an external power brick. Just plug it into the USB port and the phone line, and it works immediately. Saves a lot of desk space.

Reliable caller ID pop-up
The latency between the ring and the screen pop-up is negligible. It handles both FSK and DTMF signals without any issues. Highly recommended for computer dialing setups.
Q: Is the SDK compatible with Python or only C++?
A: Our primary SDK examples are in C++ and C#, but since the interface uses standard DLL calls, many customers have successfully created wrappers to use it with Python and other languages.
Q: Does it support dual-line recording simultaneously?
A: This specific model (IA4/CC301) supports a single analog line. For dual-line recording, please check our Zipei IA8 model which supports two concurrent lines.
Q: Can I retrieve recordings remotely over the network?
A: The device stores recordings locally on the MicroSD card or the connected PC. Remote access requires your host computer software to share the folder or upload files to a cloud service; the box itself does not have built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP lines or only traditional analog phones?
A: The Zipei IA4 is designed specifically for traditional analog telephone lines (PSTN). It is not compatible with direct VoIP digital streams unless connected via an ATA adapter.
Q: What happens if the computer is turned off? Does it still record?
A: No, the IA4 relies on the connected computer for processing and storage. If the computer is off, the device will not record calls. It requires the host software to be running.
