Excellent value for call logging
I use this to log all incoming calls for my home business. The software automatically creates a text file with the date, time, and number. It's exactly what I needed without paying for expensive enterprise systems.

Perfect for our small office CRM integration

Works but requires technical knowledge
If you are not comfortable installing drivers or tweaking system settings, this might be challenging. It doesn't have a plug-and-play interface for non-tech users. But for developers, it offers great flexibility.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The device itself is solid and recognizes calls instantly. However, the English translation in the developer manual was a bit rough. Once I figured out the API calls, it has been running without issues for three months.

Good product, fast shipping
Arrived earlier than expected. The build quality feels durable. I am using it primarily for the screen pop-up feature, which works well with my existing contact list. Deducting one star because the cable is a bit short.
Q: What operating systems are supported for the driver?
A: Official drivers are available for Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 (both 32-bit and 64-bit). Community-supported drivers exist for some Linux distributions, but they are not officially maintained by Zipei.
Q: Is the SDK compatible with Python or only C++?
A: The primary SDK is written in C++, but it includes DLL files that can be called from Python, C#, Java, and other languages that support foreign function interfaces. Sample code for Python is available upon request.
Q: Does it support FSK and DTMF signaling automatically?
A: Yes, the device automatically detects and switches between FSK and DTMF signaling modes used by different telephone service providers, ensuring compatibility with most regions.
Q: Can this record the actual audio of the conversation?
A: No, this specific model is a Caller ID Box designed to capture metadata (phone number, date, time) and trigger screen pop-ups. It does not have built-in audio recording capabilities.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP lines or only traditional analog landlines?
A: This device is designed specifically for traditional analog PSTN landline connections (RJ11). It does not directly interface with pure VoIP digital signals unless passed through an analog telephone adapter (ATA).
