Challenging but fair

The difficulty curve is steep compared to modern RPGs, which I appreciate. Some random encounters can be frequent, but the strategic depth of the class system makes up for it.

A Masterpiece Reimagined

Great game, but Japanese only

As expected from a Japanese version cartridge, there is no English text. If you can read Japanese or don't mind using a guide, the game itself is a 5-star experience. Just be aware of the language barrier.

Nostalgia overload

I played the original Famicom version decades ago. This remake captures the soul of the original while making quality of life improvements that make it accessible for modern players. The music is incredible.

Visual Stunner

The way they handled the transition between exploration and battle screens is seamless. Every town and dungeon feels unique. Definitely one of the best-looking games on the Switch this year.
