Good but requires practice
The concept is cool, but it took us a few tries to get the drawing technique right so the ink would float properly. If you press too hard, it sinks. Once you get the hang of it, it's very fun. Just be patient.

Fun party activity
Bought these for a birthday party and they were a huge hit. The floating effect works perfectly as long as you use still water. They also erase easily from the glass table we used. One pen arrived slightly dry but the rest were perfect.

My kids are obsessed!
We saw these on TikTok and had to try them. The fact that the ink actually floats on water is mind-blowing for my 7-year-old. We spent hours making little floating drawings in a bowl of water. Great quality and vibrant colors.

Educational and Magical
As a teacher, I love using these for science demonstrations about surface tension. The kids think it's magic, but it's a great learning tool. The colors are bright and the pens write smoothly on whiteboards too.

Best rainy day toy
These pens saved us on a gloomy weekend. My children drew fish and boats that actually floated in the bathtub. It's non-toxic which gives me peace of mind, and cleanup is super easy since it washes off skin instantly.

Solid quality from M&G
I've bought other floating pens before that didn't work well, but these M&G ones are consistent. The ink density seems just right for floating. The only reason for 4 stars is I wish the set came with more blue shades for ocean themes.

A: Yes, the pens feature snap-tight caps designed to keep the ink moist when not in use. Always ensure you hear a 'click' when capping the pen to maximize its lifespan and prevent the tip from drying out.
Q: How do I make the drawings float better?
A: For the best floating results, draw slowly and gently on the surface of still water. Avoid pressing hard; let the tip glide lightly. Also, ensure the water is in a wide, shallow container rather than a deep narrow cup.
Q: Do these pens work in salt water or just fresh water?
A: They work best in fresh tap water. While they may float in salt water, the high density can sometimes cause the ink to behave differently or sink faster. We recommend using a bowl of regular tap water for the best experience.
Q: Can I use these on regular paper?
A: While you can write on paper, these pens are specifically designed for non-porous surfaces like water, whiteboards, glass, and ceramics. On regular paper, the ink may bleed through or look faint compared to standard markers.
