Great quality, slightly tricky install
The build quality is excellent and the print resolution is sharp. Just make sure to tighten it while the hotend is warm to avoid leaks. Once installed correctly, it works flawlessly.

Lasts much longer than brass
My old brass nozzles would degrade within a few weeks of printing glow-in-the-dark filament. This volcano nozzle has been running for months with zero degradation in flow rate or quality.

Solid upgrade for Volcano hotends
Fits my E3D Volcano setup perfectly. The thermal conductivity is slightly different from brass, so I had to tweak my temperature settings by about 5 degrees, but results are great now.

Consistent extrusion

Perfect for abrasive filaments
I switched to this hardened steel nozzle specifically for printing with carbon fiber PLA. It has held up perfectly without any signs of wear after several spools. Highly recommended for anyone moving beyond standard PLA.
Q: How does the flow rate compare to a brass nozzle?
A: The flow rate is generally comparable. However, because steel conducts heat differently than brass, you may need to increase your printing temperature slightly (approx. 5-10°C) to achieve optimal flow.
Q: Does this come with a wrench for installation?
A: The package includes the nozzle and an installation guide, but it does not include a wrench. We recommend using a standard 7mm socket or a dedicated nozzle wrench.
Q: Can I use this with wood-fill filament?
A: Yes, absolutely. Wood-fill filaments are abrasive and will quickly wear down brass nozzles. Our hardened steel nozzle is ideal for wood-fill, carbon fiber, and glow-in-the-dark materials.
Q: What is the maximum safe operating temperature?
A: The nozzle itself can withstand temperatures well above 450°C. However, please adhere to the maximum temperature limits of your specific heater block and thermistor setup.
Q: Is this nozzle compatible with the standard E3D V6 hotend?
A: This specific model is designed for the E3D Volcano hotend system, which has a longer heat block. It is not directly compatible with the standard V6 without modifying the heat block setup.
