Great upgrade, minor learning curve
The build quality is excellent and feels very robust. It took me one failed print to dial in the temperature settings for PLA since the thermal mass is slightly different from the brass version, but once tuned, prints are perfect.

Fast installation
Installation took less than two minutes. The connector clicked in securely, and the printer recognized the new hotend automatically. First print came out clean with no oozing issues.

Solid performance
Works exactly as advertised. I am printing glass-filled PETG without any clogging. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price point, but the longevity justifies the cost.

Perfect for abrasive filaments

No more clogs!
I was constantly cleaning clogged nozzles with my previous setup. Since installing this hardened steel hotend, I have printed over 5kg of filament with zero maintenance. A game changer for my workflow.
Q: Does this come with a silicone sock?
A: This package includes the hotend assembly and nozzle wrench. The silicone sock is usually sold separately or may be transferred from your existing hotend if compatible.
Q: Can I use standard brass nozzles with this hotend assembly?
A: Yes, the threading is standard. You can swap between hardened steel and brass nozzles depending on your filament needs, though we recommend hardened steel for abrasive materials.
Q: How do I know if the hotend is seated correctly?
A: You should hear a distinct click when inserting the connector. Additionally, the printer's UI will display the hotend status and temperature reading immediately upon successful connection.
Q: Is this compatible with the original X1 Carbon?
A: No, this specific model is designed exclusively for the H2D, P2S, and H2S series. The X1 Carbon uses a different hotend form factor.
Q: What is the maximum continuous operating temperature?
A: The hotend is rated for continuous operation up to 300°C, making it suitable for high-temperature engineering filaments like Polycarbonate (PC).
