I've been using REMO Ambassador coated heads for twenty years. This double-ply version offers a bit more durability for rock settings while maintaining that classic coated snap. Excellent product.

Perfect for Studio Recording

Classic Sound, Incredible Durability

Easy to install for beginners

As someone new to changing drum heads, I found these very forgiving to install. They seated easily on the hoop and tuned up quickly. The sound improvement over my old heads was night and day.

Great value bundle

Getting both the batter and resonant heads in one pack is convenient. They hold their tuning very well even after heavy hitting during our live gigs. Only giving 4 stars because shipping took a bit longer than expected.

Q: Are these heads suitable for a 14-inch snare drum?

A: Yes, the SA-0114-00 model is specifically designed for standard 14-inch snare drums.

Q: Does this package include hardware or just the heads?

A: This package includes only the top (batter) and bottom (resonant) drum heads. Hoops, tension rods, and other hardware are not included.

Q: Is the coating prone to flaking off after heavy use?

A: REMO's coated finish is highly durable. While extreme wear over a long period may show signs of use, flaking is minimal compared to lesser brands, especially with proper care.

Q: Can I use the bottom head as a top head if needed?

A: While physically possible, it is not recommended. The bottom (resonant) head is typically thinner to maximize response, whereas the top (batter) head is thicker to withstand stick impact.

Q: What is the difference between single-ply and double-ply heads?

A: Double-ply heads, like these, consist of two layers of film which provide more durability, a warmer tone, and fewer overtones compared to single-ply heads.
