Solid upgrade from stock
Replaced the cheap plastic mouthpiece that came with my used tenor sax. The difference in sound quality is immediate. It's responsive and intonation is stable across the registers.

Perfect for my first saxophone
I bought the alto version for my daughter who just started lessons. Her teacher recommended Jupiter, and this mouthpiece produces a clear, warm tone without being too difficult to blow. Great value for beginners.

Good consistency
I run a school music program and we ordered several of these. They are very consistent from unit to unit, which is important when managing a band inventory. Durable and reliable.

Decent but basic
It does the job for a beginner, but if you are advancing quickly, you might outgrow it within a year. The ligature included is functional but feels a bit flimsy. Still, good for the price point.

Smooth tone production
The soprano version helps tame some of the shrillness common with beginner soprano saxes. It makes high notes easier to hit and keeps the lower register rich. Very happy with this purchase.

Great baritone option
Finding affordable baritone mouthpieces can be tough. This one fits perfectly and allows me to get a full sound without exhausting my air supply too quickly. Highly recommended for students.
Q: Are the facing lengths identical across all sizes (Soprano to Bari)?
A: No, the facing length and tip opening are scaled specifically for each instrument size to ensure optimal response and intonation for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Baritone saxophones respectively.
Q: Does this mouthpiece come with a ligature and cap?
A: Yes, every Jupiter student mouthpiece includes a standard metal ligature and a protective plastic cap.
Q: Can I use reed strength 3 on the tenor size?
A: Absolutely. These mouthpieces are designed to work well with reed strengths ranging from 2.0 to 3.0, making a size 3 reed a great choice for intermediate players.
Q: Is the tip opening suitable for jazz playing?
A: These mouthpieces have a medium tip opening designed for classical and concert band settings. While usable for light jazz, dedicated jazz players often prefer a more open tip.
Q: How do I clean the hard rubber material safely?
A: We recommend using lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid hot water or harsh chemicals, as extreme temperatures can warp hard rubber over time.
