Authentic Shaolin feel
I use this for teaching advanced students. The eyebrow-level length is accurate, and the wood holds up well against rigorous training sessions.

Beautiful grain pattern
Not only is it functional, but it is also a piece of art. The twisted grain of the chicken wing wood is stunning under the dojo lights.

Best staff I have owned
Upgraded from a cheaper bamboo stick, and the difference is night and day. This solid wood provides much better feedback on strikes.

Great quality, slightly heavier than expected
The craftsmanship is top-notch. It is a bit denser than my old oak staff, which took some getting used to, but it feels very sturdy.
Q: What is the approximate diameter of this staff?
A: The diameter typically ranges from 2.5 cm to 3 cm at the thickest point, tapering slightly towards the ends depending on the specific piece of wood.
Q: Is this staff suitable for full-contact sparring?
A: While made of durable hard wood, we recommend using protective gear and controlling force. It is designed primarily for forms, kata, and light contact drilling.
Q: How should I clean and maintain the wood?
A: Simply wipe it down with a dry, soft cloth after use. Avoid water or chemical cleaners, and occasionally apply a thin layer of natural wood wax to preserve the finish.
Q: Is the wood treated against insects?
A: Yes, the wood is kiln-dried and treated during the manufacturing process to prevent insect infestation and warping under normal indoor storage conditions.
Q: Does this come in different lengths?
A: This listing is for the standard Eyebrow-Level size. Please check our other listings if you require a specific long staff or short cane variation.
