Great quality, heavy weight
Beautiful natural stone with unique patterns. It is heavier than I expected, which is good for stability, but maybe not ideal for travel. Excellent moisture retention.

Traditional craftsmanship
As a calligraphy teacher, I appreciate the fine grain of this stone. It produces rich, dark ink quickly. The hot pot design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Perfect for daily practice
The double-ring lid really works. I can leave ink in it overnight without it drying out completely. The stone grinds smoothly and feels very solid.

Beautiful addition to my desk
Not only does it work wonderfully for grinding ink, but it also looks stunning on my writing desk. The natural stone variations make each piece unique.

No more wasted ink
I used to waste so much ink because it dried out too fast. This lid seals perfectly. The stone surface is gentle on my ink stick too.

Good value for money
Solid construction and nice finish. The only minor issue is that the lid fits very tightly at first, but it loosened up after a few uses. Highly recommend for beginners.
Q: How do I clean the stone after use?
A: Simply rinse the stone with clean water and wipe it gently with a soft cloth. Avoid using soap or detergents as they can damage the stone's pores.
Q: Does this inkstone come with an ink stick?
A: No, this product includes only the inkstone with its lid. Ink sticks and brushes are sold separately.
Q: What is the capacity of the ink reservoir?
A: The reservoir can hold approximately 30-40ml of ink, which is sufficient for several hours of continuous calligraphy practice.
Q: Can I use this for watercolor painting?
A: While primarily designed for calligraphy ink, many artists successfully use it for mixing watercolors due to its smooth grinding surface and moisture retention.
Q: Is the stone suitable for liquid ink as well?
A: Yes, while designed for grinding solid ink sticks, the reservoir can also hold pre-made liquid ink, and the lid will help prevent evaporation.
