Authentic Palace Style
As a collector, I appreciate the accurate proportions of the Palace style neck. It's rare to find such symmetry in a natural product. The Eight Treasures motif adds a nice traditional touch.

Lovely gift item
Bought this as a gift for my father who collects gourds. He was thrilled with the velvet pouch and the overall presentation. The gourd itself is flawless.

Great quality, slightly smaller than expected
The quality is undeniable, and the finish is stunning. Just note that 'mini' really means mini; it's quite small, which is great for pockets but maybe not for those who prefer larger pieces.

Exquisite craftsmanship
The hand-rolling on this gourd is impeccable. You can feel the smoothness immediately, and the Eight Treasures pattern is subtly detailed without being overwhelming. Perfect for daily handling.

Beautiful patina potential
I've been holding this for a few weeks now, and the color is already deepening beautifully. The long-neck shape fits perfectly in the palm. A true Wenwan gem.
Q: How do I start developing a patina on this piece?
A: Simply handle the gourd with clean hands regularly. The natural oils from your skin will gradually darken the surface and create a rich, glossy patina over time.
Q: What exactly are the 'Eight Treasures' depicted on the gourd?
A: The Eight Treasures (Ba Bao) are traditional Chinese symbols representing good fortune, typically including items like the coin, mirror, rhinoceros horn, and others, subtly embossed or painted depending on the batch.
Q: Is this gourd sealed or treated with any chemicals?
A: No, this is a 100% natural dried gourd. It has been hand-polished only to enhance its natural luster, with no chemical seals or varnishes applied.
Q: Can I use this to store tea leaves or spices?
A: While traditionally gourds were used for storage, this specific piece is crafted and polished for collection and tactile enjoyment (Wenwan). We recommend against storing food items to preserve its finish.
Q: Does the velvet pouch come in different colors?
A: The protective pouch included is typically deep red or royal blue, selected at random to complement the golden hue of the gourd. Specific color requests cannot be guaranteed.
