Great texture and finish
The smoothness of the wood is fantastic. It feels great to hold. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the color variation was slightly different from the picture, but that is natural for wood products.

Beautiful piece, slightly smaller than expected
I bought this for my office desk and it looks very elegant. The wood grain is beautiful. It is a bit smaller than I imagined from the photos, but the quality makes up for it. The aroma is very relaxing.

Perfect gift for culture enthusiasts
Bought this as a gift for my father who collects Asian mythology figures. He was thrilled. The Qilin symbolizes good fortune, and the old mountain sandalwood adds a sense of history. Packaging was secure.

The detail on the Qilin carving is incredible. You can see every scale and muscle definition. The sandalwood smell fills my car gently without being overpowering. Highly recommend for anyone who loves natural wood decor.

Calming presence in my vehicle
I keep this on my dashboard. Unlike synthetic air fresheners, the natural sandalwood scent is subtle and calming during long drives. The carving is sturdy and hasn't faded in the sun so far.
Q: How strong is the sandalwood scent initially?
A: The scent is moderately strong upon opening the package but settles into a gentle, warm aroma within a few days. It is not overwhelming like artificial fragrances.
Q: Can this withstand high temperatures inside a car during summer?
A: While sandalwood is durable, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to extreme direct sunlight or excessive heat, as this may dry out the wood over time. Placing it in a shaded area of the dashboard is best.
Q: Does this item come with a stand or base?
A: No, the Qilin handpiece is designed to sit flat on its own due to its carved base. A separate stand is not included but can be purchased separately if desired.
Q: What does the Qilin symbolize in this context?
A: The Qilin is a mythical hooved chimerical creature known in Chinese and other Sinospheric mythologies. It is often associated with the arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler and is a symbol of good luck, serenity, and prosperity.
Q: Is the wood treated with any chemicals or lacquers?
A: No, our Indian Old Mountain Sandalwood items are finished naturally with polishing only. We do not use varnishes, lacquers, or chemical treatments to preserve the authentic scent.
