Consistent Grain Structure
As a professional sculptor, consistency is key. These planks have a uniform grain structure that allows for predictable cutting. The fragrance is a wonderful bonus during long work sessions.

Exceptional Quality for Carving
The grain on this Hubei cypress is incredibly fine. It carves smoothly without splintering, making it perfect for my detailed figurines. The aroma fills the entire workshop.

Perfect for Furniture Restoration
Used this to restore an antique chair leg. The color matched well after light sanding, and the wood took the polish beautifully. Highly recommend for serious woodworkers.

Beautiful Aroma and Texture
I purchased this for a custom jewelry box project. The natural oil content gives it a lovely sheen even before finishing. The scent is calming and persists weeks after opening the package.

Lovely Wood, Slow Shipping
The product itself is fantastic—rich color and great smell. My only minor complaint was that shipping took a bit longer than expected, but the quality made up for the wait.

Great Material, Heavy Blocks
The wood quality is top-notch with very few knots. Just be aware that the high oil content makes the raw blocks quite heavy, but that also speaks to its density and durability.
Q: Is this wood treated with any chemicals?
A: No, our Hubei Cypress is sold as natural raw material. It is air-dried to stabilize moisture content but contains no artificial chemical treatments or preservatives.
Q: Is this wood suitable for beginners in wood carving?
A: Yes, the fine grain and softness of Thuja and Arborvitae make it very forgiving for beginners while still offering enough detail for advanced artists.
Q: What are the typical dimensions of the raw blocks?
A: We offer various sizes ranging from small carving blocks (10x10x5 cm) to large furniture planks (200x30x5 cm). Please check the specific variant selection for exact measurements.
Q: Does the strong aroma fade over time?
A: The natural fragrance is long-lasting due to the high oil content. While it may mellow slightly over years, it remains perceptible, especially when the wood is warmed or polished.
Q: Can this be used for outdoor furniture?
A: While naturally resistant to decay and insects, we recommend applying a protective sealant if used outdoors to maintain its appearance and longevity against harsh weather elements.
