Perfect starter kit for gourd art
I was intimidated by gourd carving until I found this kit. The brass caliper is sturdy and easy to adjust, and the hand drill gives you great control over depth. Highly recommended for beginners.

Excellent build quality
The brass components feel premium and won't rust. The wooden handles on the tools are comfortable to hold during long carving sessions. This kit has everything you need to start inlay work immediately.

Precision at its finest
The caliper allows for precise measurements which is crucial for inlay work. The knife holds an edge well even after hours of use. A must-have for serious gourd artists.

Good value for money
For the price, you get a solid set of tools. The drill bits are sharp, though I wish there were a few more sizes included. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.

Great tools, glue could be better
The carving knife is incredibly sharp and the sandpaper variety is perfect for finishing. My only critique is that the included glue tube is quite small; I had to buy a larger bottle for my bigger projects.
Q: Is the oil-based glue safe for food contact if I make a bowl?
A: While the glue is non-toxic once fully cured, we recommend sealing the interior of any food-contact gourds with a food-safe finish like beeswax or shellac for extra safety.
Q: Are replacement drill bits available for this kit?
A: Yes, we sell standard sized replacement bits compatible with the hand drill included in this kit. Please check our accessories section.
Q: What is the maximum opening width of the brass caliper?
A: The brass wing nut caliper can open up to approximately 6 inches (15 cm), which is sufficient for most standard gourd diameters.
Q: Does the carving knife come pre-sharpened?
A: Yes, all knives are professionally sharpened before packaging. However, we always recommend doing a quick honing on a strop before your first project for the best results.
Q: Can left-handed people use the hand drill comfortably?
A: Absolutely! The bow drill design is ambidextrous and works equally well for both left and right-handed users.
