Good hardware, average software
The hardware is impressive for the cost, especially the screen brightness. The pre-loaded software interface is a bit clunky, but flashing a custom image fixed everything.

Kids love it

Perfect nostalgia trip!
This little device brings back so many memories. The screen is crisp, and the battery lasts for hours. Setting up EmuELEC was straightforward, and it runs PS1 games smoothly.

Great value but needs tweaking
For the price, you can't beat it. The build quality feels solid. However, the default SD card had some duplicate ROMs. I replaced it with a faster one, and now it works flawlessly.

Best handheld under $50
I own several retro consoles, and this R36S is my favorite for travel. The buttons have a nice click, and the D-pad is accurate for platformers. Highly recommended.

Runs GBA and SNES games perfectly. N64 emulation is hit or miss depending on the game, but overall, it's a fantastic little machine for the price point.
