Excellent quality ceramic
The ceramic feels substantial yet delicate. The glaze is smooth and easy to clean. After a month of daily use, there are no cracks or fading in the red design.

Great heat insulation
I was skeptical about the non-scalding claim, but it really works. I can hold the bowl comfortably even with boiling water inside. The only reason for 4 stars is that the lid fits slightly loose.

Beautiful but small
It is a gorgeous piece and brews tea wonderfully. Just note that 110ml is quite small if you are used to larger cups. Perfect for tasting high-quality oolong though.

Authentic Guizhou style
As someone who collects regional Chinese ceramics, this piece captures the San Cai style beautifully. The proportions are balanced, making pouring easy and drip-free.

Absolutely Stunning Design
The Forbidden City Red pattern is even more beautiful in person. The colors are vibrant and the gold accents give it a very regal look. It feels great to hold during my morning tea ritual.
Q: How should I clean the gold accents to prevent fading?
A: To maintain the luster of the gold accents, please avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemical detergents. A soft cloth and mild soap are best.
Q: Does the lid have a hole for steam release?
A: Yes, the lid features a small, strategically placed air hole to ensure smooth pouring and proper pressure equalization during brewing.
Q: Can I use this for coffee as well as tea?
A: Absolutely! While designed for Gongfu tea, the non-scalding feature makes it excellent for serving hot coffee or other warm beverages.
Q: What is the exact diameter of the opening?
A: The opening diameter is approximately 7.5 cm, which allows for easy leaf insertion and cleaning while maintaining heat retention.
Q: Is this gaiwan safe to use in the microwave?
A: While the ceramic is heat resistant, we recommend hand washing and traditional brewing methods to preserve the intricate glaze and gold detailing. Microwave use is not advised.
