Good sensor, tight slot
Works well but make sure your object fits the 5mm slot. Otherwise performance is solid.

Responsive and Accurate
The detection is instant. I tested it with a spinning disk and it counted every slot perfectly.
Q: What is the lifespan of the IR LED?
A: Under normal operating conditions, the component is rated for over 50,000 hours.
Q: Can I power this with 9V battery?
A: No, the maximum voltage is 5V. Using 9V may damage the module.
Q: Does the output pull up or down?
A: The output is typically high and goes low when the beam is interrupted.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, as long as you configure the GPIO for 3.3V logic input.
Q: What happens if sunlight hits the sensor?
A: Direct sunlight may interfere with the infrared beam. We recommend shielding it for outdoor use.
