Easy to integrate
Connected to ESP32 without any voltage issues. The slot width is perfect for standard encoder disks. Very stable readings.

Solid sensor
Works as expected for counting rotations. The LED indicator is bright which helps with debugging. Only wish the cable was slightly longer.

Needs precise alignment
Had trouble initially getting consistent counts. Once I aligned the motor shaft perfectly through the slot, it worked fine. Sensitivity is high.

Excellent value
Bought five for testing multiple motors in parallel. All units performed identically. Great price point for bulk electronics work.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, the module operates at 3.3V to 5V, making it safe for direct connection to Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
Q: Can it handle motor speeds up to 10000 RPM?
A: Yes, provided the interrupter disk has a single slot. The frequency response supports high-speed detection within reasonable limits.
Q: Which wire color corresponds to VCC?
A: Typically, the red wire is VCC, black is GND, and white or yellow is the Signal output. Please check the PCB silkscreen to confirm.
Q: Is a slotted disk included in the package?
A: No, this package includes only the sensor module. You will need to provide your own interrupter disk or flag.
Q: Does the output pin have an internal pull-up resistor?
A: No, the output is open-collector. We recommend using an external pull-up resistor for stable logic levels.
