Sensitive to heat sources
Works okay but triggered by my heater initially. Had to move the sensor away. Good for the price though.

Great value component
Standard HC-SR501 quality. Pins are labeled clearly. Voltage range is wide enough for most battery setups.

Good sensor, slight learning curve
The module works well once you understand the jumper settings. Detection range is accurate. Took me a bit to calibrate the delay.
Q: Can I adjust the detection range?
A: Yes, there is a potentiometer on the board to adjust sensitivity and distance.
Q: Does it detect motion through thin wood?
A: No, PIR sensors detect infrared radiation changes and cannot penetrate solid obstacles like wood.
Q: What is the output current capability?
A: The output is a TTL signal, suitable for microcontroller inputs, not for driving high-power loads directly.
Q: Is there a datasheet available?
A: Yes, please check the product description section for the downloadable PDF manual.
Q: Can this run directly off 5V USB power?
A: Yes, the module operates between 4.5V and 20V, so 5V USB is suitable.
