Good sensor, narrow FOV
Solid performance. Just note the field of view is quite wide compared to industrial versions, so distance matters. Good value though.

Essential for my robot
Integrated this into my obstacle avoidance robot to detect heat sources. Library support is excellent.
Q: Can this measure body temperature?
A: It can measure surface temperature, but it is not calibrated for medical use and should not be used for medical diagnosis.
Q: Do you provide sample code?
A: Yes, we provide links to Arduino and Python libraries in the product description section.
Q: Does this work with Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, it supports I2C which is compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
Q: What is the maximum distance for accurate reading?
A: It depends on the target size, but generally within 10-20cm for small objects due to the 90-degree FOV.
Q: Is 5V safe for the logic pins?
A: Yes, the module includes a voltage regulator and level shifting for 3.3V to 5V logic.
